The construction of the cathedral of Reims lasted for three hundred five years (1211-1516). The labyrinth is an integral part of the building ; it is the abacus of construction of the builders and their table of knowledge, whether technical, intellectual or spiritual. He introduced the faithful in a journey on the path of mystery, while giving the keys to understanding geometric of the momunent.
Built before the coronation of Philip the Fair, celebrated on January 6, 1286, the canons destroyed it in the 18th century, yet the Enlightenment. Fortunately, the drawing of the labyrinth of Reims had been noted by Jacques Cellier from the 16th century at the annoucement of its destruction.
For a decade, the Ministry of Culture has chosen the path of the labyrinth of Reims as "logo" on its listed building. Positioned diagonally on signs and on buildings, it informs of the presence of a historical monument, symbolizing the know-how and the genius builder of the French tradesmen.
Dominique Naert makes an original contribution to the study of heritage that also takes care to locate between the Temple of Solomon and the Heavenly Jerusalem, as a milestone on a long road, thanks to his knoledge Compagnonnage and Historical Monuments. Like the builders of the Middle Ages, he scrutinizes the numbers, looking for a harmony that is not only of this world.
